A realistic approach to indoor plants
This site is not written by a professional gardener. I’m learning as I go and sharing what’s worked for me with houseplants that are known to be resilient and adaptable. The goal is to make plant care feel simple and calm, not overwhelming.
Plant care doesn’t have to be perfect. Choosing the right plant and understanding the season is often enough. And growth looks different in every home, so be gentle with yourself.
Recommendations are based on my own experiance, thorough research and everyday conditions — missed waterings, changing light, and dry winter air.
Growing plants in northern climates
Indoor plant care can feel a little different in northern regions. Between long winters, changing light throughout the year, and dry indoor air from heating, plants don’t always grow the way we expect them to. After moving to a new climate myself, I had to adjust my approach and let go of the idea that plant care looks the same everywhere.
Slow North Living focuses on finding the right plants for these conditions — and creating simple solutions at home to help them thrive. No complicated routines, just adaptable houseplants and small adjustments that make plant care easier throughout the year.
